Hands-on, full-day, on-farm conferences are coming this year. In addition to workshops with expert teachers, Crosshatch Field Schools will include one-on-one consulting with farm experts, a local food lunch, and a post-workshop social networking hour.

TRACK OPTIONS:
Delve deeply into one of these three tracks for a full day of learning:(each track has a morning and an afternoon session):
Animals on the Small Farm with Ryan Romeyn: Having both vegetables and animals on a small to mid-scale farm takes special consideration. Ryan will cover how it all works together with discussions on integration, rotation and field/pasture management. In the afternoon Ryan will focus on logistics for housing, feeding, watering and moving livestock. Finally, get a lesson in sheepdog care and training as well as a herding demonstration.
Track 2: Market Your Farm with Andrea Romeyn: How has Providence Farm gotten so good at making their farm known? They know how to sell the farm, that's how. Andrea will cover how she obtained the chops for professional marketing. She will provide amateur photo taking pointers, software options, and social media posting tips. Attendees will be asked to bring their laptops and phones with their own farm photos for a hands-on walk through of marketing.
Track 3: Hoophouse Growing with Austin Weed and Stacy Sangsland: Winter extension starts in the summer, and few do it better than the folks at Providence Farm. The farm hoop house crew will take you deep into season extension with sessions on site selection, structures and designs, warm season crops, cool season crops, soil fertility, pest management for protected cultivation as well as water, light and temperature specifics. Six packed hours and you will leave with hoophouse success that much closer.
