Hands-on, full-day, on-farm conferences are coming this year. In addition to workshops with brilliant teachers, Crosshatch Field Schools will include one-on-one consulting with farm experts, a local food lunch, and a post-workshop social networking hour.

TRACK OPTIONS:
Delve deeply into one of these three tracks for a full day of learning:(each track has a morning and an afternoon session):
Mushroom Production with Bernie Ware: Join Bernie for a day of mushrooms. Inoculate shiitake logs in the morning. In the afternoon, make oyster totems, learn about winecap propagation and see how old mushroom logs can become huglekulture beds.
Beekeeping with Charlotte Hubbard: (Taking place at Grow Benzie 5885 Frankfort Hwy, Benzonia, MI 49616) Get into the nitty-gritty of spring and summer colony management with Charlotte. She will discuss hive inspection, varroa strategies and options for swarms.
Fruit Tree Management with Brenin Wertz-Roth: Orchard design, planning and fruit tree varieties will be covered by Brenin. Also learn orchard management techniques with hands on instruction in grafting and tree planting with companion species.
