For the safety of our community, we will not be holding Skill Swap in person as scheduled. We are working with our partners to hold the spirit of the Skill Swap in the virtual world, and will have updates soon.

Hello dear ones,
So, yes, we are pretty sure that the Skill Swap, scheduled for May 30, will be canceled. If it does go on, it will be in a form that is quite different from any past events. But the Skill Swap, deep in its bones, is about the many different ways that a community can come together when times call for it.
Oh man, are the times calling for it.
Our hope, as together we process the challenges and the grief and the uncertainty ahead, is that you are feeling what we are feeling—that something powerful has a chance of being born right now. Can we talk about that? Can we collectively imagine that, and make some room for it, together?
It's even more important that we share skills, and hold space, together. Let’s do that—talk about the future, see each others’ smiling faces (maybe in pixel form, maybe at a safe physical distance), and imagine a future where a virus can take away our physical contact but not our love for each other; not our willingness to experience or create art, or learn together. Let's swap some skills! Let’s get our hands ready to dig into that dirt, team up with microbes and mycelia and yeast, tinker with some tools, and get prepped up to face the future with more knowledge, more skill, and more self-and-community reliance than ever before. This is not a retreat—this is a rededication and a revision.
We’ll be announcing some dates and times to hop online soon, so we can start talking and working through this birthing. As for the May 30 Skill Swap—we’re also staying really flexible. Things are changing so quickly and we want to be ready to respond with wisdom and love and the best possible strategy—which is often patience.
Also, we’re not going to charge for any of these online classes or virtual meet-ups. As you can guess, though, these three organizations, like so many worthy causes, are at risk right now. If you are able to support this great work, you can make donations at the links below.
With you, Brad and Amanda Kik, Seth Bernard, Chelsea Coy, Mae Beale, Kriya and Matt Miller
