The Energy and Natural Resources Committee of the League of Women Voters of Leelanau County and Crosshatch will co-host “Climate Change Solutions in the Soil,” a digital conference via Zoom on Wednesday April 29 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm. This program is a virtual panel discussion and Q&A about how good farming and gardening practices can sequester carbon and be one way to mitigate some climate change severity. Local panelists will reflect on farm and gardening practices that capture carbon into the soil, while building resilient systems for growing plants. Panelists will include Paul May (May Farm), Dr. Nate Walton (MSU Extension) and Kama Ross (Leelanau, Benzie and Grand Traverse Conservation Districts).
This virtual discussion is being hosted through Zoom. Interested participants must register, visit http://bit.ly/climatesoil for program information or call for registration assistance at 231-714-9730. You will receive information to connect via email after registering.
